Carter Lumber said the 1325 Veterans Road location is another step in the company’s expansion and continued investment to grow in Southern markets. The new facility will provide a comprehensive range of products and services to professional home builders in the greater Columbia area, according to a news release.
The Columbia location will employ 25 and serve as an extension of Carter Lumber’s Charlotte and Triad North Carolina markets, operating under the same management team headed by Market Vice President Brandon Kujawski.
“Carter Lumber has serviced builders in Columbia for years from our Charlotte market, but this new location will allow us to finally provide the complete package, from products to service, for those builders and many more,” Kujawski said in the release. “We strive to provide the best service in this industry, and we’re excited to prove that to home builders in Columbia.”
Gareth Rumley, a Columbia native and graduate of the University of South Carolina, has recently joined the company as the general manager of the new lumberyard. Gareth and the management team are currently interviewing for operations and sales positions and hope to build an industry-leading team for the market, the release stated.
The Columbia Carter Lumber will be full service, stocking a range of lumber and millwork products, as well as windows, interior and exterior doors, engineered wood products, cement siding, structural hardware and more. The lumberyard offers full estimating and design solutions for roof and floor trusses, wall panels, engineered wood floor systems and cabinetry. With included on-site management, the Columbia location will also offer turnkey installation services for framing, windows, cement siding, cabinets, doors and interior trim, the release said.
