Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina will reopen its 412 Sulphur Springs Road store in Greenville as a clearance center on Dec. 18.

The doors to what the organization calls an “enhanced thrift shopping experience” will open to shoppers at 9 a.m., according to a news release. “The relocation marks a significant milestone as GIUMSC continues to reimagine its retail operations to better serve the community.”

“We are thrilled to welcome customers to the new Upstate Clearance Center,” Pat Michaels, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands, said in the news release. “This move allows us to expand and improve our services while continuing to support Goodwill’s mission of helping people improve their lives through the power of work.”

The location previously operated as a retail center until it was closed in November for the renovations.
The previous clearance center location on Haywood Road will close its doors on Dec. 14, as the organization begins the transformation of that space to a “new and innovative destination for thrift shopping,” the release said. The reimagined Haywood Road location is expected to open in 2025.

Every purchase at the clearance center directly supports programs that help individuals in the community achieve financial stability and independence through workforce development initiatives.

Normal operating hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
