Clayton Construction Co. Inc., a commercial general contractor based in the Upstate, will move their corporate headquarters to 316 W. Main St. in downtown Spartanburg.

The building, formerly occupied by Event Rentals, was originally constructed by Clayton Construction, according to a news release.

McMillan Pazdan Smith designed the space. Young Office has played a key role in furnishing the new headquarters, the release said.

Clayton Construction Co., founded by Wren and Sophie Clayton, has called Spartanburg home since 1981.

“We are proud of our continued growth and could not be more excited to be moving our corporate headquarters (to) downtown Spartanburg,” Todd Horne, president of Clayton Construction Co., said in the release. “West Main Street is a key corridor into downtown Spartanburg and our team is thrilled to lead the charge to help make this revitalization a reality for our community.”

The company called the change of address a “strategic move” that shows Clayton Construction’s commitment to contributing to the economic and cultural vibrancy of Spartanburg.

“The new downtown location will enhance collaboration with local partners, provide a central hub for operations and strengthen ties with the community,” the company said in the release.

The move will take place early in 2025, the release stated.
