Sumter, SC – On October 13, Nova Molecular Technologies, Inc. (Nova), a leading manufacturer of high-purity solvents, hosted a grand opening at their new plant in the Pocatalico East Industrial Site in Sumter, South Carolina. The chemical purification facility is located on 15 acres off Hwy 521 South on Racetrack Road which is how the plant got its designation of RTR.

The RTR facility was designed with a focus on sustainable processes and systems and is a primary site for recovery of spent solvents for purification to high purity. This expansion allows Nova to manufacture the highest quality Biopharma/scientific solvents and produce new solvents and chemicals to meet the growing needs of Nova’s markets, all while being environmentally conscious.

Several local officials, employees, business partners, and representatives from the community attended the event at the RTR facility. Also, in attendance were South Carolina Speaker of the House Murrell Smith and Sumter County Council Chairman Jim McCain. The grand opening included a commissioning of the plant, tours of the new facility, and a family day for Nova employees and their families.

“The support from our local community and the assistance received by local partners, such as, Thompson Turner and Thompson Construction, was invaluable to success of this expansion project. When fully operational, this facility will add 25 jobs to the local economy, triple the manufacturing capacity of Nova, and provide sustainable, environmentally friendly chemical recycling opportunities for our customers.” said Greg Hoffmann, vice president of operations for Nova.

Construction services for Nova’s RTR facility were handled by Thompson Turner Construction, a division of Thompson Construction Group, Inc.
