Cayce, SC – American Engineering Consultants, Inc. is proud to announce that Project Engineer, Christopher Waddell has been awarded both the 2023 South Carolina Water Environment Association (WEASC) State Engineer of the Year award. Mr. Waddell was also honored with the WEASC Capital District Engineer of the Year award.

Mr. Waddell has been employed with American Engineering Consultants, Inc. for 7 years. He is an invaluable asset to our team and has played a significant role in the success of our firm. Chris is a South Carolina registered professional engineer with a B.S. in Civil Engineering (2007) from the University of South Carolina and has ten (14) years of experience in the water and wastewater field. His strong work ethic, analytical aptitude, technical competency, and attention to detail are demonstrated in each project that he undertakes. His dedication to providing innovative and creative designs along with unparalleled service has earned him tremendous respect and loyalty from our clients and his coworkers. Chris’s commitment to his engineering profession is not only apparent in the office setting, but also through his willingness to participate in Professional Development committees, events, and activities. He is actively involved in the Water Environment Association of South Carolina and the Water Environment Federation.
In addition to this honor, Chris was nominated for and awarded both the Capital District and the South Carolina State Young Professional of the Year in 2019. He is extremely dedicated to his profession and clients, striving to stay abreast of new developments in the industry, and is continually looking for opportunities to expand his knowledge. Chris has demonstrated outstanding character, commitment, and expertise in his field.

Chris has been involved in various phases of water and wastewater-related municipal and industrial projects, from conception and planning through construction and start-up. His project experience includes the design and analysis of water and wastewater treatment plant unit process, site design, design of water and wastewater distribution/collection systems and pumping stations, hydraulic analysis and modeling of municipal water and sewer systems, and modeling and design of stormwater collection systems. Additional duties include operational assessment and troubleshooting of pumping systems, and pilot study planning and assessment. Chris specializes in projects in the fields of environmental and water resources engineering.
